Company Overview

StoreSearch Licensing Inc., a subsidiary of ComCode Corporation, is a new media company that facilitates Internet commerce for a network of over 150,000 online merchant Web sites that is continuing to expand globally.By providing the most complete database of shopping Web sites coupled with other compelling content and technologically advanced search and transaction services, StoreSearch will continually capture the imagination and reinforce the satisfaction of customers.

StoreSearch was founded by Bill Sands, a 20-year retailing veteran who has served on the boards of the National Retail Federation and the Florida Retail Federation. Tom Alison, a pioneer in electronic shopping and new media joined StoreSearch after having served as Executive Vice President at NordicTrack and also at The Home Shopping Network. Tom was involved in many early developments of online shopping and interactive services including the start-up of Prodigy while a senior direct marketing executive and consultant on Madison Avenue. Chris Timken rounds out the senior management team bringing a wealth of experience from the travel industry and American Airlines in particular where he played a major role in the rollout of Sabre, American Airlines' travel reservation system (parent of Travelocity), to travel agents. Much of the early work on StoreSearch was done in conjunction with MasterCard, an original sponsor, and Microsoft, which licenses the StoreSearch database for MSN Yellow Pages. StoreSearch continues to work with these and other major companies. Today, more and more merchants and consumers are embracing the Internet's role as a combined information and sales channel. We are now witnessing the convergence of traditional retailers and the direct marketers requiring new approaches to satisfy consumer demands. The Company is well positioned to be a major participant in this emerging market sector and is currently developing new software and services to help bridge the gap between the Internet and "brick and mortar" stores.

StoreSearch's core business is providing both broad-based, as well as, vertical shopping directories or guides. StoreSearch makes its Web sites interesting and attractive to shoppers by:

  • Providing a way to save time.
  • Informing of ways to save money.
  • Making a search easy, removing extraneous and irrelevant information.
  • Introducing new products and stores.
  • Delivering confidence in having made an informed purchase.
  • Delivering a personalized shopping experience.
  • Providing ratings and consumer feedback on products and merchants.
  • Identifying where the product can be purchased-- online, in store, or delivered.
  • Matching products and merchants to individual profiles and tastes.

StoreSearch's primary revenues are derived from businesses by:

  • Delivering significant audiences looking for or considering the purchase of a particular product or category of goods.
  • Delivering people highly likely to purchase a product in the near future.
  • Positioning these businesses as category leaders and preferred suppliers.
  • Identifying different customer segments and delivering tailored messages to them.
  • Showing consumers where to go to see and or buy the product (brick and mortar stores, as well as, online merchants).
  • Identifying whether a desired item is available and in stock. (future)
  • Suggesting products to someone considering a related item or compatible category.
  • Linking the consumer to related information and experts to support the purchase decision.
  • Targeting and delivering advertising messages in a conducive, credible environment.
  • Providing software and business systems to conduct electronic advertising and e-commerce.
  • Selling selected products and services.
  • Providing opportunities for incremental sales.
  • Assisting with cross channel merchandising and multi-channel integration (retail, web, and catalog).

In addition to operating the StoreSearch web site, the Company licenses to third parties the proprietary software it created to power the StoreSearch Shopping Guide. This internally developed software features multi-criteria search engine and ad server technologies. When used in conjunction with other custom and turnkey online transaction solutions, StoreSearch offers a comprehensive, e-commerce enabled publishing and merchandising system for both business-to-consumer and business-to-business applications.
